
Georgia and the European Union – Legal and Political Vectors

On December 6, 2024, the European University Institute of Law organized the international online conference “Georgia and the European Union – Legal and Political Vectors”.
Considering the ongoing street demonstrations in Georgia, the event was held remotely and brought together Georgian and international legal experts.
The conference aimed to foster an academic discussion on the relationship between Georgia and the European Union, future prospects, and avenues for cooperation.
Speakers addressed key topics, including challenges on Georgia’s path to EU membership, the legal aspects of accession, and the legal and political dimensions of the Transparency Law.
Foreign experts:- Emanuele Morucci - Doctor of Sociology, Western Catholic University of Brest, Brittany, France; Member of the European Commission's “Team Europe France”; President of CECI (Circle for European Citizenship and Identities).
- Hans-Jürgen Zahorka – Former Member of the European Parliament; Editor-in-Chief of the EU Foreign Affairs Journal; Director of the European Institute “Libertas”.
- Levan Meskhoradze - Affiliated Associate Professor at European University; Head of an EU project; National/International Expert for the EU, Council of Europe, and American Bar Association.
- Nona Gelashvili - Visiting Lecturer at Caucasus International University; Ph.D. candidate at the University of Hamburg.
