October 15 - October 22, 2016, a professional training course on international law was held, organized by the European University Institute of Law. The course was led by the professor of Columbia University (USA), attorney - Roger Hiatt.
The program included familiarization with the peculiarities of Anglo-American law. Students were introduced to the differences and specific approaches of precedent law from the continental legal system. Lectures were provided by an interpreting service.
At the end of the course, a test exam was held. Successful students were awarded certificates of success. Students who did not score the appropriate points were given certificates of participation.
During the visit, the American attorney met his Georgian colleagues. At the meeting, the parties discussed the positive and negative aspects of the legal systems in Georgia and the USA.
