The European University Institute of Law’s project has been selected as a winner of the grant competition for the popularization of science
The winning project, “Academic Catalogue of Legal Research,” envisages the creation of a unified digital search platform for legal research in Georgia, with the aim of collecting, systematizing, and increasing access to scholarly works produced in the field of law.
Within the framework of the project, an online platform will be established on the basis of the European University Institute of Law, which will operate as a national search engine for scholarly works published in the field of law in Georgia. It will bring together in a single space legal research, scholarly articles, dissertations, conference papers, research reports, and other academic publications published in various Georgian academic journals, edited collections, and institutional publications.
The catalogue will gradually incorporate academic works in various areas of law, including public, private, criminal, international, and other branches of law. Researchers, students, and practicing lawyers will be able to search for relevant research both by using keywords and through thematic classification and the respective areas of law.
The establishment of the platform will significantly facilitate the search for and access to legal research already published in Georgia. It will contribute to increasing the visibility of Georgian legal scholarship, advancing scholarly communication, and connecting research resources available across various academic publications and institutions within a unified academic space.
At the same time, the existence of a unified search system will facilitate the better identification of research that has already been conducted, strengthen academic integrity, and contribute to the prevention of plagiarism in the field of law.
