2nd international scientific conference "Modern trends in the science of criminal law"

The European University Institute of Law held the international scientific conference "Modern trends in the science of criminal law". Scientific Officers of the Institute, as well as academic staff of other universities participated in the conference. Scientists discussed not only the changes made in the field of juvenile justice, but also the Code of Juvenile Justice, the adoption of which was assessed as a definite step forward. The following topics were also discussed at the conference:
- Issues related to Siamese twins in modern Georgian criminal law.
- Relation to the norm of law and its methods.
- The main aspects of qualification of unlawfulness and extra-legal circumstances excluding fault.
- Legal grounds for confiscation of the property of the person materially responsible for the accused's actions and/or the person related to him (comparative analysis).
- The legal status of the victim in relation to the criminal law.
