The international scientific journal "Law and the World" of the European University Law Institute has signed the international declaration of the Budapest open access initiative (BOAI).
According to the mentioned declaration, modern technologies should provide digitally free and unlimited access to scientific publications for all members of the public (scientist, teacher, student, and any interested person) worldwide. Namely: the user will be able to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link the full text of these articles, search them for indexing, transmit or use for other lawful purposes without financial, legal or technical barriers; in addition to the barriers inherent in accessing the Internet itself. The only restrictions on reproduction and distribution should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to proper acknowledgment and citation.
Removing accessibility barriers to scientific literature will accelerate research, enrich education, make scientific literature as accessible as possible, which will lay the foundation for the scientific academic union of mankind, and make the search for knowledge accessible.
