Standards of Professional Conduct for Judges

June 12, 2019, the American judge Mark Speiser held a masterclass on the topic: “Standards of Professional Conduct for Judges” at the European University. The lecture was not only attended by European University students but Georgian lawyers and other students from different higher educational institutions of Georgia. Attention was drawn to the requirements of professional conduct for a judge, both internationally and under US law.
Mark Speiser has a long-standing partnership with the European University Law Institute. He has repeatedly given public lectures and training at the invitation of the Institute. On his initiative, the best student of the European University completed a one-month internship at the Miami Court (USA).
The masterclass was held in English. The participants were given the relevant certificate.
Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held at the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia. The meeting was attended by Prosecutor General - Irakli Shotadze, Deputy Prosecutor General - Natia Merebashvili, and the heads of structural units of the Prosecutor's Office - Irakli Chilingarashvili, Nikoloz Chinkorashvili, and Mirian Megrelishvili. The Prosecutor General - Irakli Shotadze thanked the guest for his expressed interest in the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia and for sharing his opinions.
As Deputy Prosecutor General - Natia Merebashvili said, it is important to listen to the opinion of foreign partners and colleagues on priority issues and to be shared their experience with the Prosecutor's Office.
According to the American judge, Mark Speiser, he was greatly impressed by the efficient work of the employees of the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia.
