March 13-18, 2017, the European University Institute of Law organized an international training course: "The Magna Charta of English Liberty and Its American Legacy: 1215 to the Present". The course was led by Vincent Johnson - Professor of the Law School at St. Mary's University of Texas (USA). The program covered the creation and development of the Magna Charta, its role and significance in modern American law. Within the framework of the course, on March 17, the American professor held an open public lecture on the topic: "Ethics of legal professions".
After passing the exam, the students were given certificates from St. Mary's University (USA).
Vincent Johnson - a Professor at St. Mary's University of America gave his books as a gift to the European University. Under his authorship, published books in civil law deal with the issues of Compensatory Damages and offer the reader the American experience. The book is available for students in the university library. The parties agreed on the possibility of translating it into Georgian. Vincent R. Johnson is an honored professor at St. Mary's University of Texas School of Law, a member of the American Institute, as well as a member of the Committee on Disciplinary Rules and Referenda (appointed by the Supreme Court), and a member of the Executive Committee at the Professional Responsibility Association of American Law Schools. His works have been cited in more than 210 law reviews, 65 federal and state court decisions, and various treatises. His books are required reading in more than 40 American law schools.
